Project Completed! Video Link Here!

We did it!

See Video Here: https://youtu.be/wD3ggpKbuGA

Project Name: Superblock

Date of Completion: 6/13/2017

Class: CSE190 Spring 2017 at UC San Diego

We finally did it! All of Superblock is now implemented! That video shows off most of what we accomplished, but here's all the highlights:
  • Two networked players, one in the Oculus Rift and one with the Leap Motion
  • Players must hit a watermelon back and forth at each other
  • One user on the Leap Motion must block watermelons with their fists
  • One user on the Oculus Rift must DODGE watermelons!
  • If the Leap Motion player lets a watermelon get by, GAME OVER
  • If the Oculus player gets hit by a watermelon, GAME OVER!
  • ALL IN 3D! EXPERIENCE THE FUTURE! (3D glasses included)

That's the actual gameplay, but what about some of our technical accomplishments?

  • Created completely from scratch in OpenGL
  • Implemented Leap API and Oculus API
  • Networking using sockets
  • Collision detection for walls, fists, and watermelons
  • A beautiful custom-edited skybox
  • Glove models that follow tracked Leap/Oculus Touch hands
  • Moving watermelon! (That's shaped like a pumpkin. It's a pumpkermelon).
  • Anaglyph stereo support for the Leap Motion user (it's the future!)

Most importantly, we finally decided on a team name. We are...

TEAM SEMICAT

Thanks for checking out our work, and we hope you enjoyed it!
